- Once you have made your decisions, simply call us and we will put your project out to bid among qualified roofing contractors.
- We will electronically submit your drawings, proposed job specifications, and a material list with pre-negotiated prices to several pre-screened roofing contractors who are qualified to install the product you have chosen.
Our contractor verification process is extensive and we will only shop your project among contractors who have a sound business model in place that indicates to us that they will be in business for ten years or more.
While we have a large contractor base to choose from, you should expect that, typically, 4 to 5 qualified contractors will bid on your project. This process usually takes 7 to 10 days.
- Once the winning bidder has been selected and the price meets your budget goal, we will meet with you to go over the project specifications and assist you in preparing your proposal/contract for submittal to the winning contractor.
In the State of Washington, you are the general contractor for your home and general contractors in the commercial industry don’t allow subcontractors to write contract agreements. We believe that since you are responsible for the proposal/contract terms, you should prepare the documents.
- We will submit your proposal/contract, along with a 25% deposit check, to the winning roofing contractor.
It is our opinion that, while all negotiated contracts should incorporate a down payment/security deposit, the typical 50% deposit required by most contractors is excessive. Roofing ontractors that list with our service have agreed to accept a 25% deposit on all projects generated through Seattle Roof Advisor.
- Once your contractor accepts and signs your agreement, you will be assigned a tentative starting date, which is typically 2 to 3 weeks out and will never be more than 6 weeks from the signing date.
- We will then contact you by phone to inform you of your start date, as well as mail your signed proposal/ contract original, and the contractor’s profile and current liability insurance certificate.
Keep in mind that there is never any obligation to use our service and
you will never
pay Seattle Roof Advisor for any aspect of this service.
